This video shows Israel police evicting Palestinians from their homes that they have lived in all of their lives. It seems that there was no real reason for the evictions. This is an example of how Israel has no intention on sharing the land.

Israel vs. Palestine

According to ifamericansknew.org and historyguy.com, the main conflict between the Israelis and Palestinians is that both have a strong belief that the land is theirs. The war has been going on for over sixty years. It began over two-thousand years ago when the Romans exiled the Jews from Jerusalem. After sometime the land became heavily populated with Arabs who call the land Palestine, it wasn't until WWII that an extremist group of Jews, the Zionist's , fled to what they call Israel and began to buy out the land with no intentions on selling or sharing it with Palestinians again. Ever since then it has been a series of wars against the two groups.

On May 14, 1948 as Israel was proclaimed a sovereign nation, military forces from the countries of Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Iraq invaded the country. Since then the Israelis have been fighting various Middle Eastern nations and Islamic extremist groups off and on over the last sixty years.

The following are two maps from the Palestinian Academic Society for the Study of International Affairs, showing the drastic change in landownership. The left picture is Palestine in the year 1947 and the right picture is Palestine after the year 1948.The dark blue areas represent Jewish-owned land. The black dots represent the depopulation of Palestinian villages. The light blue areas on the left map represent Jewish State formed after the UN-Partition in 1947. On the right map, the light blue areas represent Israel after the Armistice Agreement in 1949. There is a significant difference in these two pictures regarding the Gaza Strip and the number of Palestine villages that were depopulated.

To better understand the maps above, the following paragraph is a brief history of the Israel-Palestine conflict from the year 1947 to 1967.
In the article “The Middle East conflict-a brief background”, Anup Shah states, “The British Empire, especially, played a major role in the region [Middle East region].” He goes on to prove this statement by explaining how the British Empire made promises to both the Israelis and the Palestinians. If Arab leaders were willing to go against the Ottoman Empire, the British Government, as stated by Shah, “Would support the establishment of an independent Arab state in the region including Palestine.” Later, in the year 1917, according to Shah: “Lord Arthur Balfour, the British Foreign Minister, issued a declaration (the Balfour Declaration). This announced the British Empire’s support for the establishment of a Jewish national home in Palestine.” These promises that were made are contradicting seeing as how neither group wants to share the land. After World War II, the United Nations proposed the partition of Palestine, the Palestinians refused, while the Israelis accepted the offer. In 1948, many Palestinians were driven away from their homes and placed in to refugee camps in various areas including Egypt and Lebanon. Also in 1967 Israel attacked Egypt, Syria and Jordan, the reason as Shah defines it, “was a pre-emptive strike against the Arab troops along its borders.” As the outcome of this war Israel more than doubled its landownership.
